About

The evolution of adventure.

Trident was born out of a passion for seeking challenging adventures and experiences, it has been a never fading dream.

Amongst the team we have a unique and extensive list of experience and qualifications.

All our directing staff have a background within the spectrum of specialist military units, we are a close knit team who have operated together in some of the world’s most inhospitable places and under extreme conditions.

We value and recognise the undeniable benefit of being in good company with unrelenting positivity, humour and humility.

Although honoured to have served, these experiences do not define us, however they have given us a unique perspective and insight into how to get the very best out of people.

We are focused and dedicated to providing the best service in the adventure industry, we are passionate about what we do and we know it works.

Meet the Team

Nick Wilman, founder of Trident Adventure

Nick Wildman

Nick is the founder of Trident Adventure. He is a former Regular Army Sapper, Firefighter, Expedition Leader and served 8 years with the SAS (R).

An early trip to Africa changed the course of his life, it led to the British Army and the World of adventure.

Nick has led expeditions, travelled and worked extensively around the world. Some of his most memorable trips include retracing WW2 escape routes across the Pyrenees ,trekking in the Himalayas, scrambling in the Atlas Mountains and ski tours in the Arctic.

Adventures like these give you a positive mental reference point for the future and introduce you to a culture and people you would never have ordinarily met. It’s these valuable memories and moments that stay with you long after the trip has finished.

Life in the Military and on expedition teaches us that challenging experiences help you to step outside of the ordinary, to get the very best out of yourself and to be a valued part of the team. It’s a unique setting and opportunities to test your mettle in today’s World can be hard to find. Trident adventure deliver this opportunity but above all we are about enjoying authentic adventures with a group of positive, likeminded people.

There’s never been a time when we needed these experiences more than we do now. Invest in yourself , commit to a challenge, step outside of your ordinary and book your next adventure today.

Nick Grainge - Guide

Nick Grainge

Nick qualified as a physical training and jungle survival instructor within the Armed forces. He has trained athletes across many disciplines and is a World record holder for the marathon and half marathon carrying a 80lb bergan. He met Nick in Afghanistan whilst serving in the SAS and they have been loyal and trusted friends since that time.

He has always been fascinated with getting the mind and body working together to bring about the most effective change in people’s lives. Finding the right level for the individual adds more value and positivity to their life overall. Dispelling negativity and encouraging action through shared accountability is a tried and tested formula for success at any level.

Nick is the founder of Elite Outdoor Fitness where his main goal is to take clients on a journey so that they can function to the best of their ability either on expeditions , multi day events or challenges. He understands that people need support in achieving their goals and in getting the balance right, to make it part of their lifestyle and to lead a life full of adventure.

We all need to see results but most importantly people need to enjoy the journey, going on adventures is the perfect way to do this. Most people give up because they don’t understand how to stay fit, they have limiting beliefs or they don’t have a decent goal to aim for.

Making a commitment by signing up for an adventure is an investment in yourself, once you push that button the journey of personal growth has begun.

Nick Golby - Creative Media

Justin Golby

Having spent most of my life enjoying the great outdoors and travelling the world looking for adventure, whether in the mountains of Nepal or the jungles of the Northern Triangle, I began looking for challenges that would push my limits.

After undertaking numerous weighted fitness endurance events, I have now turned to Ultra running as a new passion and recently completed the Pars’s 10, Endurance course at Lympstone and the Lakes in a day ultra.

With my professional background in film and photography, and with a hunger for adventures offering something different, becoming a member of the Trident team was an exciting opportunity.

Going forward, I hope I can share the exciting and unique experiences Trident has to offer through the powerful media of documentary films.
